BTV Airport Kids Zone Takes Off

After a two-year pandemic pause, the National Life / Let’s Grow Kids Kids Zone opened officially this week. The space, a former mauve-drab conference room,  was transformed pre-pandemic through a partnership between the National Life Group Foundation and Let’s Grow Kids, with help from Beta Technologies, the electric aircraft company.

Burlington Mayor Miro Weinberger, Let’s Grow Kids CEO Aly Richards, Acting Airport Director Nic Longo and our past CEO, Lead Director of National Life’s Board and Chair of the Foundation’s Board, Tom MacLeay gave remarks prior to the ribbon cutting. You can watch the press conference here.

PCAVT Laptop Donations are ‘Life Changing’ to Recipients

If you’ve visited the Vermont campus lately, you may have noticed some blue pinwheels planted near the main entrance. The pinwheels are a symbol of child abuse prevention and represent our support of Prevent Child Abuse Vermont (PCAVT). PCAVT is a subchapter of Prevent Child Abuse America, a non-profit organization on a  mission to promote and support healthy relationships within families, schools, and communities.

Like many of the non-profits we partner with, PCAVT depends on corporate donors to sustain its programs. This is why we leverage as many opportunities as possible to help their cause.

Vermont State Boys & Girls Club Youth of the Year

Community support and activism define who we are. It also allows us to connect with organizations that make a difference. Our very own Magesh Elangovan was asked to be a judge for the Vermont state Boys & Girls Club Youth of the Year competition. Each club nominates one student and then a panel of judges makes the very difficult choice of who the winner is for the state.

Your Teen Can Live The Rockstar Fantasy While Doing GOOD

The excitement is building as we count down to Do Good Fest on July 16th. So far, nearly 3000 tickets have been sold with donations totaling over $17,000 with proceeds benefiting Branches of Hope. New to this year’s event will be a high school music competition called Beats For Good. Beats is open to current Vermont high school students, their classmates, and musical acts of all sizes and genres. It’s America’s Got Talent, with a Vermont twist.
