Sometimes the expectation bar is set so high that we are often left disappointed. We plan, we organize, we collaborate in hopes of delivering on our vision. What we see in our heads is not always what we get, and we tend to settle.

When planning a massive event like Do Good Fest 2022, it’s easy to set expectations high and even easier still to be disappointed. Well, we set an incredibly high bar, and not only did we sail over it, but we did it with room to spare and we did with passion, excitement, and a commitment to a greater good.

The pandemic has been difficult for all of us in one way or another. But for those who are victims of domestic violence, the need to remain isolated in a location with someone who is abusive can be horrific at best, deadly at worst.

Washington County Youth Service Bureau is seeking volunteers to do fun and enriching activities with clients in their Barre based Return House residential program for young men transitioning out of prison and back into the community. The activities promote physical and emotional well-being and provide skill building and positive interaction for young men who are working hard to build better lives for themselves.

We’ve been approached about a volunteer opportunity to help with an annual collection used bicycles and sewing machines, which will be shipped to developing countries overseas.

Central Vermont Opportunities

• Census Volunteers Needed for 2020 Census in VT – Capstone Community Action is Central VT’s hub for Census 2020. They are looking for volunteers to help out at Capstone in Barre once or twice a month on either a M, W, or F from 9-3 beginning March 12th and ending July 31st, to make sure participants are able to be counted in the Census. More details are here.

The Kellogg-Hubbard Library is looking for volunteers to help set up their next book sale, which starts March 7, 2020.

Participate with a group of energetic and caring volunteers to help provide independent kayaking experiences for people with disabilities in a safe/supervised environment. Volunteers needed to assist with transfers into/out of kayaks and be buddy paddlers with participants.
