Earlier this month, National Life Group was a proud sponsor of Black Excellence Night 2022.  Black Excellence Night is an annual community empowerment conference focused on celebrating Black leaders, empowering and supporting Black businesses, and providing advancement opportunities to Black professionals. As a sponsor, we were there to recruit individuals looking to join a mission-driven organization, as well as provide financial education for those interested in securing a better financial future.

Our friends in IT have done it again!

Earlier this week, two refurbished laptops as well as multiple monitors and other equipment, were donated to Vermont Works for Women, a local nonprofit that promotes economic justice by advancing gender equity and supporting women and youth throughout their career.

We’ve all noticed some updates and improvements around our campuses. In our effort to look for ways to act responsibly and with a focus on sustainability, we found a home for some of the office furniture that was replaced.

On Saturday, February 19, National Life’s own Keith Phelan, along with a few friends, put on his winter wear and headed onto Lake Champlain which was frozen solid to. . . golf!

He and a number of other winter warriors braved the cold to take part in the 5^th Annual Charity Ice Golf Scramble which benefitted Camp Ta-Kum-Ta. (National Life was a sponsor.) Camp Ta-Kum-Ta provides challenging, extraordinary experiences in a safe and loving environment for children who have or have had cancer and their families. 100% of the proceeds support these families on their healing journey.

The National Life Group Foundation provided a grant to Champlain Housing Trust to restore the O.N.E. (Old North End) Community Center in Burlington which was a school built in the early 1900s.

An army of our teammates volunteered their time and worked with our Sodexo friends, who have long been committed to the Stop Hunger Foundation, to prepare and deliver over 1000 Thanksgiving meals to families around VT.

To make these meals from scratch, it  took 60 Whole Turkeys, 400 lbs. of Butternut Squash, 350 lbs. of Potatoes, and lots of love. See for yourself the impact it made. Shout out to our own Master Video Producer, Jaime Brassard for capturing this love on display.
