October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month

The pandemic has been difficult for all of us in one way or another. But for those who are victims of domestic violence, the need to remain isolated in a location with someone who is abusive can be horrific at best, deadly at worst.

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. At National Life, we’ve stepped up our support during our Foundation’s general grant process, donating to organizations that help victims including The Family Place (TX), Prevent Child Abuse VT, Alliance for Children (TX), and Steps to End Domestic Violence (VT). Our IT team has also risen to the challenge, refurbishing dozens of laptops and monitors to help families in crisis get support through tele-appointments.

Are you interested in helping? You can take part in a virtual walk to support a Vermont nonprofit, Courtney’s Allies, a community outreach group working to bring awareness and relief to domestic violence victims, near or far. Also, our Share the Good campaign will open on November 1. If you would like to donate to a specific organization(s), our Foundation will match your donation, up to $2000.
