Happy Birthday To National Life – And All of Us!

We’re looking pretty darned good for 172 years in a year of pandemic and uncertainty.

So, Happy Birthday, everyone!

National Life Insurance Company was chartered by the Vermont Legislature on this date in 1848.

As you’ll see in our accompanying post about our history, National Life has weathered many challenges in its long history.

But it has always emerged stronger than ever, just as we’re seeing throughout the Covid pandemic.

The devotion to a cause is one that is as old as the company itself.

Julius Dewey, the man who more than any other was our founder and remains our inspiration, was committed to the idea of life assurance.

As many of us know, he went door to door in rural New England in the 19th century as our very first agent and ultimately the executive who got it all started in the home office.

That’s the company that National Life remains today. We’re devoted to keeping our promises, to helping to bring peace of mind to the people of middle America, to supporting the communities where we work and play.

So, let’s take this opportunity to celebrate our 172 years and commit ourselves to another 172 of serving the people who continue to rely on us.
