Records show that domestic violence has increased in the midst of COVID-19. The Family Place has been working to stop family violence since 1978 by empowering victims of violence by providing safe housing, counseling, and skills that create independence while building community engagement.
The Family Place and National Life Group have partnered to help victims of violence become independent in their own safe home by hosting a Starter Kit Drive. Once victims are able to move into their own place and start fresh, they will need essential items for independent living again. Think of the first time you moved out on your own: you probably needed pots and pans, sheets and pillows, towels, and cleaning supplies.
Nimesh Mehta and his wife Radhika have graciously donated their time to spearhead this event with Meg Bittner from The Family Place on Sunday, October 25th from 11 am to 1 pm at the National Life Group parking lot (15455 Dallas Pkwy #1100, Addison, TX 75001) for a drop-and-go donation site. Nimesh discussed this event with his team and several colleagues have jumped on board to also volunteer at the event. Individuals who stop by to donate will be entered into a raffle to win a Partners Card.
If you’re unable to stop by and donate during this event, you have other opportunities to donate to The Family Place through a Partners Card.
