Setting Sail in Support of Fighting Cancer

We all know someone impacted by cancer. If we aren’t fighting the battle ourselves, we’ve been there to support friends, family, colleagues and even strangers.

So many great organizations exist that bring awareness and support to those in that fight and the National Life Foundation is proud to contribute to their efforts.

Suzanne Snyder Johnson, Executive Director, Sail Beyond Cancer USA is not only a cancer survivor but the wind in the sails behind Sail Beyond Cancer VT. She was asked recently about a new fundraising program called SHAKE YOUR BUOY and the impact the National Life Foundation has made.

“All of us from Sail Beyond Cancer VT are extremely grateful for the generous support from the National Life Foundation.

Recently, we had our 1st Annual in person fundraiser SHAKE YOUR BUOY that took place at ECHO, Leahy Center for Lake Champlain. Because of the support of the National Life Foundation and several other corporations, we had a remarkably successful event raising over $23,000.

Our goal of hosting this event was to encourage people in our community to come together again while bringing awareness of how your support really does make a difference in people’s lives who are being challenged by cancer – One Sail at a Time!

Our goal this summer is to bring more children out on the lake who have cancer as we are partners with Camp Ta-Kum-Ta again for our second season.

Thank you again, National Life Foundation! We are honored to have your support in so many ways!”
