National Life Redefines The Idea of ‘Home Office’

We often refer to our campuses in Vermont and Texas as our “home office.”

Well, we have begun to redefine that term, haven’t we!

All across the company, National Life employees stepped up for Day One of the remote working experiment and helped us keep our promises.

According to Chief Information Officer Nimesh Mehta, by noon we had 864 Citrix users and 335 VPN users online, meaning nearly 1,200 of us working remotely.

There were a few Internet and technical issues on the first day, so that number will certainly go up.

As we’ve seen from the photos, there have been a lot of creative ways of turning our personal spaces into workspaces.

A common theme is that our pets are joining the cause. Isn’t it nice to make Do Gooders out of our cats and dogs?

We’ve also seen the kids pitching in. We have special empathy for those of you who are trying to juggle at-home child care with job responsibilities right now. Thank you for all your efforts.

And our partners and spouses are also finding themselves working remotely. So it’s nice to see the open office environment at home for many of you who are sharing an office setup.

Continue sending us your photos, stories of how you’re making it work, and tips for your colleagues at communications@nationallife.com.
