Sometimes the expectation bar is set so high that we are often left disappointed. We plan, we organize, we collaborate in hopes of delivering on our vision. What we see in our heads is not always what we get, and we tend to settle.

When planning a massive event like Do Good Fest 2022, it’s easy to set expectations high and even easier still to be disappointed. Well, we set an incredibly high bar, and not only did we sail over it, but we did it with room to spare and we did with passion, excitement, and a commitment to a greater good.

Do Good Fest 2022 was only made possible because of an army of volunteers, security personnel, support staff and the entire National Life Community all working together.

When the call went out for volunteers, you answered. In fact, the volunteer meeting last week was standing room only. When the unexpected popped up, you raised your hand and asked, “what do you need?” It shouldn’t surprise any of us that that our “do good” spirit was on full display but seeing it in action on this scale, was simply amazing.

Thank you to the over 100 of volunteers who stepped up. Thank you to our incredible facilities team for their seamless and tireless work. Thank you to local law enforcement for keeping us safe and secure. Thank you to our Guest House staff for hosting our bands and their crews. Thank you to our shuttle drivers who are always on call for whatever is needed, including crack of dawn pickups.  Thank you to Chef Emma and her team for not only the 80’s picnic but immediately shifting gears and creating the VIP lounge experience that was the talk of the town.

Without all of you, this never would have happened. It was your commitment to doing good that made all the difference. A special hat tip to Mother Nature for blessing us with a beautiful Vermont summer day.

By the way, we initially told Branches of Hope we raised $50,000 for cancer patients. After the final tally, we crossed $70,000. WOW!

Next up is Do Good Fest Texas in October and there is no doubt that the National Life family will rally again and make this inaugural event something special.
