Make Literacy Kits for Hunger Free Vermont’s Summer Meal Sites!

We have a great opportunity to help families in need this summer by volunteering to put together Literacy Kits for Hunger Free Vermont.

We need volunteers who can put together kits that will be distributed at summer meal sites for the remainder of the summer, and we have four dates/times to get filled.

The best part is that everything comes to us! All we need are 4-8 people for each time slot. We’ve already reserved conference rooms.

The Literacy Kits contain fun things for kids – often books and toys – and putting them together is a great way to get artsy and crafty as a team, and to have fun for a good cause.

The goal of the Kits is to eliminate stigma, encourage parents to read to their kids, reinvigorate passion for learning, and share information about the work Hunger Free Vermont is doing that can help families in need. The Kits that we make will be distributed at summer meal sites primarily in Washington County between now and when school starts up again in the last week of August.

If interested in one of the time slots below, please email Allison Steinmetz right away…Spaces are limited!
