Have any of you who have been in the lines waiting to pay for your lunch on the Vermont campus noticed anything different in the past couple of days?
They are starting to flow a little more swiftly, thanks to a new app that Sodexo, our café and catering partner, has introduced.
It’s called the Bite App and it’s where you can find menus, specials, promotions.
And it’s also what you can use to pay for your food. You can link your Bite App to a credit or debit card. Scanners at the cashier stations read from your smart phone and make payment quicker.
There are plenty of other benefits to having the app on your phone, including nutritional information and Weight Watchers points.
There are be incentives that earn you discounts or even free food or coffee.
The app is available both on Apples App Store or on Google Play, depending on what smart phone you use.
The Bite App also can be used to purchase SoGo cash cards.
Those are payment cards that act as a debit card. You can load $40 or $50 or whatever amount you wish and they’re accepted in the checkout lines or at any Sodexo facility.
Those cards can also be used as incentives or gift cards. Cards are available at the cash registers. You can put money on them at the register or take a card and register online.
You can still use the lunch cards that we’ve used for many years to cover a guest’s lunch. They need to include your accounting unit so your department will be charged for the meal.
