This year we are delighted to launch CIG Business Architecture 2.0. The emphasis will be on operational transformation that will embed the future state business model more broadly to advance CIG’s vision of seamless service excellence and customer intimacy delivered with urgency, quality and caring curiosity. Transformation will focus on people, processes and business capabilities required to deliver a simple, accurate and fast experience at scale. CIG Business Architecture and Transformation will take a leading role in designing the roadmap and blueprints needed to evolve from our current state to our future state.

In Q2 2022, we will begin deployment of a future state new business and underwriting digital platform that will build upon current capabilities such as eApp, auto-decisioning and eDelivery. This will enable a fully digital experience from submission to delivery of the policy. The CIG Business Architecture and Transformation team is comprised of three centers of excellence: Business Insights/Analytics, Business Optimization/Solutions, and Business Readiness/Rollouts.

In association with this tremendous launch, I am pleased to announce the promotion of Damian Barton to Vice President and Head of CIG Business Architecture and Transformation.

Damian’s journey with National Life has been one of learning, strategy, and execution. She joined NLG from Bombardier in 2014 as Director of Contracting and Licensing and quickly became a student of our industry and culture. After four successful years, Damian was promoted to Assistant Vice President of Field Services. In 2020, she was assigned to the new and exciting opportunity as Head of CIG Business Architecture where she helped design and lead the business development of our future New Business Platform.

Damian was born and raised in Vermont. She currently resides in South Burlington and enjoys spending time with her mother, sister and nephew who all live locally. Her Bulldog Hailey is always by her side. In her spare time, Damian enjoys traveling, hiking, yoga, and strength training.

Please join me in congratulating Damian in her new role.
