The Culture Fellows movement kicked off in September in a vibrant session, with Mehran and the Culture Leadership Team present. This inaugural Culture Fellow team marks a critical next step in our all-important culture journey.
Mehran opened the meeting and shared his thoughts on the WHY behind the Culture Fellows. He said,
“THE SIGNIFICANCE OF FELLOWS IS TO: SPECIALIZE IN COMPLEXITY; WATCHING, DOING AND TEACHING; BEING THINKERS AND INNOVATORS VS BEING HANDED PRECISE ACTIONS TO EXECUTE; INTERESTED IN LEARNING AND PUTTING THE LEARNING TO GOOD USE.”
Lastly, on creating a legacy, he commented that Fellows inspire something and get out of the way when the next chapter has to be written.
Culture Fellows offered their thinking on the mission and what they saw as our challenges and opportunities. They said they will focus on driving performance that will fuel our success and teach us how to win consistently. They also said we must be mindful of our company’s evolution and ensure people are also growing along with the company. This is not about what is broken…It is about strengthening what is already great. We need to be game-changers. Culture is a critical benefit to us, it reminds us of our reason to stay. Alignment is critical and we need to be reminded that people are not necessarily in the same place. It is important to act now!
After the kickoff session, the Culture Fellows joined the Executive Management Team in the Unconscious Bias education pilot and contributed to the content in that program.
