A Tragedy in Uvalde, Texas

We are heartbroken by news of the horrific school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, and our thoughts are with the teachers, parents, and students affected by this tragedy.

In 2018, LifeChanger Brian Copes approached us with a challenge: “We need to change the way we approach violence in schools.”

In partnership with Brian and other teacher leaders across the country, National Life helped found and fund the National Coalition for Safe Schools. NCSS is a teacher-led initiative that believes the best way to create safer and healthier schools and communities is to proactively address the root causes of violence and other negative behaviors.

There is so much more work that we need to do, and we can’t do it alone. Join our coalition and contribute to the national conversation about how to prevent school violence at www.notinmyschool.com

We’re Celebrating 10 Years of Celebrating LifeChangers

Ten years ago, National Life decided to honor some of the people who are core to who we are as a company with a cause: the teachers and other educators who help shape our children.

We work with school employees day in and day out, helping them plan for a secure, dignified retirement through our 403(b) business.

Because of that connection with schools, we’ve always seen the amazing things that teachers and custodians, bus drivers and coaches do when they interact with the kids in their care.

In short, it was obvious that the very best educators, regardless of their position, were changing lives for the better.

And so the LifeChanger of the Year program was born as a way to make sure those educators got some of the recognition they deserved.
