A Bahamian Family Reunion

The 2021 independent channel’s Conference of Champions incentive trip is a wrap. Despite COVID considerations, the team pulled off a great event.

Below is a first hand account of the event as provided by Marketing Director Mallorie Manosh, followed by photos from the conference.

If you need proof that absence makes the heart grow fonder, look no further than National Life’s annual distribution incentive conferences.

There’s no doubt that both Conference of Champions and Presidents Club, our Independent and Affiliated channel’s annual training and incentive trips, respectively, have always been a family reunion. This year though, after canceling 2020 and postponing 2021, the energy, the connectivity, the love were stronger than ever.

Mehran has always strived to make every aspect of these conferences feel welcoming to not only the qualifiers but also their families. This is hardly an event for producers-only. Instead, it’s about breaking bread as an extended family. One where our qualifier’s spouses, children, and other family members are not just invited but encouraged to attend. Without a doubt, this is what makes our trips stand out from others in the industry.

And while the family reunion theme has been harmonious over the years, as has the dynamic general sessions, workshops, and local entertainment, there were some changes to the format this time around.

The conference team worked harder than ever to make sure safety was paramount amid the pandemic. Hosting a family reunion of this size is never an easy undertaking, in fact, our conference team works through the entire year leading up to the conference planning the event.  This time, our team also had to juggle the ever-changing guidelines and protocols surrounding COVID-19 and international travel. And they were on top of it every second of the way.

Abundant testing, mask wearing, social distancing and indoor time was reduced. Even the structure of some of our standard events was modified to ensure we were following safety protocol.

Rather than a formal indoor awards dinner, recognition was built into the general sessions. But just because the awards dinner was eliminated from this year’s agenda, there was no shortage in celebration and recognition. And not just for our top producers but also the success National Life has achieved over the past year, our resiliency and of course, the National Life employees who are the secret sauce behind all of this.

Mehran and the leadership team’s admiration and appreciation for the National Life family back home rang loud and clear through each day of conference. What we continue to do for the communities we work in, live in, play in is foundational to our success and critical to our game plan. Our producers left with the reinforced values and knowledge of how our employees Do good. Be good. Make good. for them, for clients and for each other.
