Salvation Farms Vermont Commodity Program handles surplus produce from Vermont Farms and aggregates it into the charitable food system as well as some institutions in the state. The work there mainly consists of cleaning, quality inspecting, and packing as well as some minimal processing to turn surplus into frozen product.

On Friday, August 2nd, National Life volunteers popped over to the packaging site in Burlington, VT.
There, volunteers Cathy Fisk, Eve-Lynn McCluskey, David Hill, Caroline Payne, and Allison Steinmetz handled and packaged over 800 pounds of potatoes in just over 2 hours!
