The Executive Management Team meets weekly to discuss enterprise strategy, exchange critical information and review performance across the company.
Last year, when the pandemic struck and we moved to a virtual work environment, Mehran created what he called “ExMT-Plus,” the 12 members of the Executive Management Team plus four other company leaders: Louis Puglisi, independent distribution; Pam Blalock, affiliated distribution; Bill Whitsell, CIG leadership, and Angela McCraw, also representing CIG leadership.
At the beginning of the pandemic the ExMT-Plus met every morning five days a week but in recent months the group has scaled back to three days a week.
Mehran says he considers the larger group to be an operating committee, a tactical committee with leaders who have a pulse on the business.
“We talk about the state of the business,” he says. “We are talking about the day or the next 24 hours or the next 72 hours.”
“This larger group opened important lines of communication in a time of crisis,” says Mehran. “It’s been key to our success during Covid.”
