The Barre Opera House is a historic gem nestled on North Main Street. This 121-year-old theater has been providing central Vermont with local, national, and international talent for decades, but, as with anything that’s 121 years old, began to show its age. That’s when National Life stepped in.
As a major contributor to the Barre Opera House’s capital campaign, National Life is helping ensure the theater will be there well into the next century. Money from this campaign is going towards an interior paint job, new seating, and restoration of critical backstage structures, some of which had never been updated. Executive Director Dan Casey and the board (including National Life retiree David Sanguinetti) were so appreciative of our donation, they named the main stage after National Life.
Check out these photos of the restoration. Hopefully, we’ll soon be able to once again enjoy world class entertainment right in our backyard!
