Share the Good, our annual fund-raising drive for charities, raised a record amount for nonprofits this year.
And there was a record number of participants.
A total of 352 employees, retirees and members of the board of directors contributed a combined $286,544.
With the match by the National Life Foundation, more than $570,000 will be donated early in 2020.
And where did we give? Well, a lot of places! Donations will be made to 374 different charities all around the country, although primarily concentrated in Vermont and Texas.
The Vermont Foodbank, for example, got 20 donations, and the North Texas Food Bank got seven.
There’s a bit of paperwork to do, but the goal is to get everything processed for deductions to come from our paychecks starting with the first period in January.
And checks to the nonprofits will go out a little bit later than that.
