When your corporate cause is to end childhood hunger in Vermont, it only makes sense to invite some of those kids and their families into your house and serve them a meal.

That’s exactly what we did this week.

The Executive Management Team served up a delicious meal to families who were invited from several different social service agencies in central Vermont. And almost four dozen employees volunteered to make the whole thing a big success.

In addition to the meal, the children were treated to a fun kids’ zone and everyone was sent home with a care package.

National Life partnered with our food service provider, Sodexo, which donated all of the food. There were also donations from Cabot cheese and Green Mountain Transit provided transportation.

The meal was only one of the ways that National Life is tackling childhood hunger.

The National Life Foundation continues to support local nonprofits that feed our neighbors. The company is also represented on a childhood hunger task force. And a group with representatives from the Executive Management Team also continues to meet to devise strategies.
