National Life Group and SSC Security are pleased to introduce Mr. Loren Barrett as the new Site Supervisor for the physical security at the Vermont Campus.


Loren was born in Jamaica and migrated to the United States at the age of 14. He spent his teenage years in Hyde Park, MA, graduating with honors from Hyde Park High School in 1983.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army in February 1984 and went on to become a Paratrooper and member of the Army’s famous 82nd Airborne Division. He was honorably discharged from service in January 1987.

After serving in the Army, Loren attended Northeastern University, from which he graduated in 1990 with a Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering Technology.

 

For the past eleven years, Loren has worked as a Regional Security Specialist contractor for Oracle Corporation, where he oversaw the daily security operations for Eastern Canada and most of New England. Prior to joining Oracle, Loren was trained by the Department of Homeland Security as an armed contract Security Officer and Supervisor for the Federal Protective Services responsible for the guarding of federal buildings.

 

Loren has four children. One is an Electrical Engineer at Johnson Controls, one is a Computer Engineer/Developer for IBM Securities, one is enrolled in the Masters Chemical Engineering program at UMass Lowell, and the youngest is a high school senior. Loren will be residing in Bethel, VT.
