We are very pleased to announce that Mark Benjamin has joined us this week as our new Chief People Officer.

Mark brings more than two decades of experience to National Life Group. He has a long and proven record of leading all elements of human resources – from talent acquisition to compensation to engagement and culture. He also has deep experience in business. His record shows that he can roll up his sleeves and tackle critical business and organizational challenges.

Mark comes to us from American Express where most recently he was the Chief Human Resource Officer for American Express India Market. In that role he oversaw all human resource functions for roughly 15,000 American Express employees.

Before joining American Express in 2013 Mark worked for American International Group (AIG) in New York where he served as the Global Head of Talent Acquisition, Global Head of Employee Relations and Head of Human Resources for the Global Investments business.

He also held senior HR leadership roles for various financial services including Bank of America-Merrill Lynch and Citigroup, to name a few. Mark started his career at State Farm Insurance serving in underwriting and claims management.

Mark hails from New Jersey where he attended “the” Rutgers University.

I want to thank Michael Veilleux for serving as our interim Chief People Officer.  Michael did a fantastic job supporting us during this critical transition.
