Wow, what a fantastic group of community-minded people we work with.

For our Volunteer Week initiative last week, we sent National Life employees out in Do Good teams all over the Addison and Montpelier communities to donate our time.

We’re still working on tallying all of the numbers. But it looks like there were 182 individuals who signed up. We hope everyone has recorded in UltiPro their volunteer hours so we can keep track.

And what did we do? Apparently a little bit of everything.

We packed food at the North Texas Food Bank and at the Vermont Foodbank.

We seeded and transplanted and weeded and planted trees at organizations such as the Vermont Youth Conservation Corps, Central Vermont Home Health and Hospice, Texas Equest, and the city of Addison.

We stuffed an annual appeal mailing for the Montpelier Senior Activity Center and a skills fair packet at CVHHH. There was painting and some carpentry at Central Vermont Habitat for Humanity and Good Samaritan Haven.

We helped deliver meals with Meals on Wheels in Texas.

That’s only a sampling. But it was gratifying to see so many of our teammates wearing the black Do Good shirts and living our corporate values out loud over the past week.

To each of you, Thank You!
