Washington County Youth Service Bureau is seeking volunteers to do fun and enriching activities with clients in their Barre based Return House residential program for young men transitioning out of prison and back into the community. The activities promote physical and emotional well-being and provide skill building and positive interaction for young men who are working hard to build better lives for themselves.

There are opportunities for people to volunteer individually and in small groups – on an ad hoc or ongoing basis. Timing is flexible. Some activity ideas include:

Outdoor activities (we have a van for transportation):

  • Hiking
  • Kayaking
  • Fishing
  • Disk golf

Indoor activities:

  • Cooking classes
  • Guitar playing
  • Weight and fitness training
  • Pool and ping pong
  • Playing video games and/or board games
