Looking for ways to Do Good in your community? Check out these volunteer opportunities.
The Kellogg Hubbard Library has four book sales a year and are looking for volunteers to help with:
• set-up of the booksales (taking books out of our book closet and placing books on tables by genre)
• straightening the books during the sales (usually six weeks, sometimes longer)
• boxing up the books when we close the booksale
• moving those boxes of books to the sidewalk for ARCC (Additional Recyclables Collection Center) to pick up
and starting all over again with the set-up.
The booksale work never stops.
The library could use volunteers to work on an on-going basis and could also use volunteers who just want occasional opportunities.
On Friday, August 26, at 10am volunteers are needed to help move boxes outside to the sidewalk where they will be emptied into gaylords (very large containers) that ARCC will provide.
The booksale will be set-up from August 27 through September 2 for the opening of the next booksale on September 3.
The revenue from the book sales are very important to the library.
Last year the library raised $34,488.13 from the book sales.
