There are a few more nonprofits who need our help next month.
The Barre Senior Center needs volunteers to help circulate about 100 posters in Central Vermont. The posters are to help recruit volunteers.
For more information, contact Mary Rose at activities@barreseniors.org.
For anyone volunteering at the Vermont Foodbank, if you would like to dedicate your volunteer hours to H.O.P.E to help offset their food costs, please notify the Foodbank when you volunteer.
The Green Mountain Club of Vermont is looking for passionate and outdoors-minded volunteers! Volunteers have been the backbone of the Green Mountain Club for more than a century. Without their service the trail would not have been built nor managed as it is today. GMC volunteers donate their time, energy, and knowledge to support the club and share the Long Trail system with the public. They serve on committees, blaze trail, monitor land boundaries, assist with membership mailings, and act as trail ambassadors at outings and events. There are dozens of ways to get involved both on and off the trail.
Projects range from tread work, such as drainage maintenance and cutting new trail, to helping with building projects in the backcountry or packing in supplies. Equity Services is currently organizing a “Bark Mulch Packing Trip” for 4-5 of our employees where we will work together to carry 40-50 lb. bags of bark mulch into backcountry shelters over rugged terrain for use at composting privy sites.
If interested, please email groups@greenmountainclub.org for more information and suggestions on arranging group volunteer opportunities.
