National Life is proud to support The Vermont Women’s Fund and all of the amazing work they do to empower girls and women across Vermont. So when they held their Annual Benefit Celebration this week, we couldn’t pass up the chance to support the cause.

The Vermont Women’s Fund hosted more than 400 guests at the celebration, which took place at UVM’s Dudley H. Davis Center. The night included inspiring speeches by Executive Director Meg Smith, Governor Phil Scott and Keynote Speaker Reshma Saujani. Saujani, who founded the non-profit organization Girls Who Code, has taught more than 90,000 girls across the country how to write code. In her keynote speech, she encouraged all of us to think about raising girls to accept failure, try again, and be brave, not perfect. “We raise girls protected”, said Saujani, “we think that we are raising their confidence when really we are making them incompetent with failure”.

The event raised over $35,000 for The Vermont Women’s Fund, which will benefit women’s philanthropy and the important role it plays in furthering women’s progress.

Thank you to Annie Crawford, Elizabeth MacGowan, Joyce LaRosa, Dawn Minter, Christina D’Agostino and Allison Steinmetz for representing National Life Group at the event!
