Are you seeking a volunteer opportunity this summer in Vermont? We’ve got you covered! Check out some of the fun options below, and sign up today.

Central Vermont Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Support local seniors by volunteering as a greeter and appointment maker for Foot Care Clinics put on by Central Vermont Home Health and Hospice.
  • Use your volunteer time to support families with new babies as a board member for Good Beginnings of Central Vermont.
  • If you’re a planner and you’re already looking at Fall, Everybody Wins! matches reading mentors with kids at schools throughout our region. Find out more here.
  • Volunteer for the Barn Dance & Harvest Festival benefiting The Children’s Room in Waterbury on September 20th. (Other dates could work too.) The event itself is a harvest themed family event with live music, games, animals, snacks, crafts, hayrides, a pie social and other surprises. It will be held at Beard’s Barn in Waterbury Center, as it has been for over 20 years, on September 22nd from 2 to 5 p.m…but we need your help in advance to make it all happen! Sign up by emailing Becky Colley.
  • Put up posters in Montpelier for Prevent Child Abuse Vermont’s upcoming Walk for Children. Email Ed Bride to sign up.
  • Help with setup and administrative duties for the third annual gala in support of Good Samaritan Haven in their efforts to come up with local solutions to end homelessness. The event takes place on September 20th and volunteers are needed for shifts from 1 pm – 10 pm. Sign up by emailing Sue Dell. All volunteers will be able to enjoy the event for free. Starline Rhythm Boys and Patti Casey and Colin McCarthy will provide the entertainment throughout the night.

Northeast Kingdom Opportunities:

  • Catamount Arts presents the incredible Leavitt Amp Series at Dog Mountain and volunteers are needed each week. Contact Martin Bryan for details on this series and other opportunities to support the Arts.
  • Plan ahead and connect with Everybody Wins! to be matched as a reading mentor with a child when school starts up again. Find out more here.
  • Community Restorative Justice has an ongoing need for volunteer support in several areas of their work: Restorative Justice Panels, Reintegration Program with Circles of Support and Accountability (CoSA), and Neighborhood Development.
