The Central Vermont Humane Society is looking for a forever home for this cutie!
With his golden eyes, summery blonde coat as soft as silk, and looonng lean legs, young Sailor could easily be a super model strutting down the catwalk. He’s super friendly and has a great ear-to-ear smile for everyone he meets, and sometimes he can be a little aloof. And he may prefer to sit by your feet while watching TV, rather than climbing in your lap.
Sailor hasn’t met a toy he doesn’t like, and fetch is an especially fun game. Or he will happily entertain himself with a squishy squeaker toy. He enjoys spending time outside with his people, preferably going on a hike or a walk through town. He’s taken field trips to the pet store and hardware store, and he’s a champion out in public, even with all the distractions and smells. Oh, and he loves car rides, especially if he can sit near you on the front seat! He just wants to be with his people.
Sailor is still in his puppy years, and has puppy energy to burn. He doesn’t know his size, and can get pretty rambunctious, but he’s learning that calm behavior is going to get him a treat. An active home with teenage kids would be great. And most importantly, he is looking for an active home that can spend time with him, and provide structure and physical outlet for his energy. He could live with a dog-savvy cat that would show him who’s the boss, and dogs who are not overly assertive are OK. No birds, though!
Sailor knows basic commands and is food motivated, which is great for training. He walks nicely using a Gentle Leader, and can use more training when on a harness.
Sailor’s adoption fee is $350 and includes a 6-week Good Manners training class! Please contact Laurie Garrison at the Central Vermont Humane Society if you’re interested in adopting Sailor.
UPDATE: Who remembers these two fur babies?? We featured them in the October 8th edition of The Scoop. We’ve just recently discovered that Kita and Olly have been adopted from CVHS! Thank you everyone for spreading the word.
