Models strutted down the special runways constructed in the Vermont cafeteria this week to join CEO Mehran Assadi in kicking off 2017 in style.
Mehran toasted another remarkably successful year: $131.9 million in flow annuity sales; $193.8 million in life sales; $701.5 million in SPDA sales.
These kind of results don’t happen on their own, of course, and Mehran thanked each person in the company for their part in making such a successful year.
But he focused particular attention on the folks who processed so much of that business during the final quarter of the year.
Final quarter? Actually, the final month, not to mention the final week. A huge volume passed through our doors at the very end of the year.
In fact, we processed 94,402 life applications in 2016 and 57,103 annuity apps. Put another way, that was 1.3 L&A apps per minute for all of 2016.
And in the call center, each rep took 13,438 calls, or 2,458 more than they did in 2015. That’s for a total of 671,923 calls in the last year.
To show his appreciation and that of the executive management team, Mehran presented each National Life employee with beautiful, um, well, we’re not saying. Because our colleagues in Texas will get them next week and we hope the surprise hasn’t been ruined for you, yet.
But that’s where those models come in. Four employees were invited on to the special stage assembled in the cafeteria to show off the surprise gift.
