Vermont Public Radio will soon be flipping the switch to start transmitting its signal in the Montpelier area from the roof of our Vermont campus.
And with that, National Life will be broadcasting its Do good message on the air.
VPR approached National Life last year about the possibility of installing a transmitter because our hilltop location would help to beam the radio station’s signal into the hard-to-reach valleys around Montpelier.
Other companies already lease space on the roof for their communications equipment.
National Life agreed to the arrangement with VPR and in lieu of lease payments will broadcast messages on the statewide network.
The underwriting is scheduled to begin airing the first week of April and will be heard occasionally during the morning drivetime of 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. and the afternoon drivetime of 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
