Promotions in L&A Solutions

Please join us in congratulating the following individuals on their well deserved promotions.

Justin Tease has been promoted to Associate Vice President, Life & Annuity Solutions. Justin joined National Life Group in 2016, after spending 10 years at Deloitte Consulting, in our ESDO area (now S&BT). He joined L&A Solutions in 2017 as Portfolio Manager.  Justin has taken on the leadership role to engage all parts of our organization in order to plan proper resources, technology and capital to deliver our product-plan on time, on plan and in a very clear and transparent way. His deep knowledge of the processes needed to succeed and the ability to work across various areas have been instrumental in delivering our product. Justin has quickly become a key member of our organization. He holds an MBA from Boston College and serves on the board of Montpelier Alive, representing a long standing partnership with NLG to sustain and build Montpelier’s vibrant downtown community.

Nicole Frey has been promoted to Actuary. Nicole has been with National Life Group for over 5 years. She was hired into the product development area initially and has completed her Actuarial rotations. Nicole gained valuable experience through a rotation in Asset Liability Management, and then in a non-traditional Customer Experience role where she became a product owner. Nicole returned to product development as a manager within L&A Solutions last fall. Her broad experience and interest in continual learning has served Nicole well through her various projects. Nicole’s current focus is the development of the next generation of Living Life product. In March, after attending the Fellowship Admission Course, Nicole will become our newest Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA).  Nicole holds a Master of Science degree from Syracuse University.

Sophie Thorup has been promoted to Actuarial Analyst II. Sophie joined the Inforce Management team 18 months ago. Over the past 1.5 years she has gathered a strong understanding of our products and processes.  Her business acumen, strong analytical abilities and intellectual curiosity has helped improve our Inforce Management capabilities materially.  Sophie has worked on many of the team projects and has taken ownership of significant portions of the work done by Inforce Management. This promotion is in recognition of her increased responsibilities and the leadership qualities that she has exhibited, in addition to the progress she has made in her Actuarial exams.  Sophie is a graduate of the University of Vermont.

Sarah Menard has been promoted to Senior Proposal Design Consultant.  Sarah has taken on additional responsibilities over the past year as we have launched several key projects.  Her extensive knowledge of products, riders and state specials has made her a valuable resource for many throughout the company.  She is a key member of L&A Solutions and has contributed significantly to our ability to launch products successfully over many years.  Sarah currently leads the testing efforts for all products that require illustration.  She has a Masters degree from University of Vermont in mathematics with a focus on Abstract Algebra and holds the Certified Software Tester (CST) designation.

Page Green has been promoted to an Actuarial Systems Analyst III. Page has been with National Life group for over 13 years, starting in our Product Implementation team.  Prior to that she spent several years in the United States Air Force.  Over the past years she has taken on many additional responsibilities. Since December of 2017 she has been a member of the Soup A Stars Agile scrum team, who were critical in implementation of our recent products. Through this role she has served as the subject matter expert in product set up, policy mechanics and calculations across all systems utilized in the sale and administration of life insurance contracts.

Ada Morse has been promoted to Actuarial Systems Analyst II.  Ada joined National Life in 2018 and has already made significant contributions to improve our product delivery process.  She is a problem solver with demonstrated skill-sets that have improved the efficiency of our product testing and implementation materially. She quickly learned Alteryx and utilized this skill to aid in the automation of rate generation and testing for the Vantage tables that has improved our testing cycle materially. Ada holds a PhD in mathematical sciences from UVM.
