If you’ve visited the Vermont campus lately, you may have noticed some blue pinwheels planted near the main entrance. The pinwheels are a symbol of child abuse prevention and represent our support of Prevent Child Abuse Vermont (PCAVT). PCAVT is a subchapter of Prevent Child Abuse America, a non-profit organization on a mission to promote and support healthy relationships within families, schools, and communities.
Like many of the non-profits we partner with, PCAVT depends on corporate donors to sustain its programs. This is why we leverage as many opportunities as possible to help their cause.
Most recently, our IT department generously donated refurbished laptops to PCAVT clients in need. These donations are life-changing to recipients who often have to put careers and/or education on hold due to a lack of resources. Here’s what one anonymous recipient had to say about her “new” laptop:
“I received a wonderful Dell laptop today in the mail! That was so quick, only two days! I just wanted to thank you and your team so much for the donation, I will take very good care of it! Zoom and I don’t get along at times so you have helped me immensely when it comes to my high demand of meetings that I must attend, I can also pursue school again now! Such a huge weight has lifted, a laptop has always been a huge concern for me. Now I can get classes, zoom appointments and schooling done. Thank you so much, both you and your team! I’m so thankful, you’re much appreciated. I will see you this Thursday for our next nurturing families class and I shall be using my cool laptop to do so!“
