Thanks to the efforts of dozens of us, we easily surpassed our goal of donating 850 hours of volunteer time to nonprofits in our communities.
The paid time off was spent with donated hours of work to nonprofits in Vermont and Texas as well as a number of other locations around the country where our remote employees work.
We’ve had a number of notes of thanks for all the work we’ve done.
“I wanted to send a huge thank you to the two teams who joined us last week!” the volunteer coordinator at the Vermont Foodbank wrote one day. “The May 9th morning and afternoon teams sorted 12,000 pounds of donated food which translates into 10,000 meals! That’s absolutely incredible!”
Another day she reported that 6,853 pounds of food had been sorted.
The organizer at the YWCA’s Vermont Camp Hochelaga also wrote about how valuable our volunteer labor was.
“We got a lot accomplished and we are so grateful to you all for your time and energy!” she wrote. “We really could not do what we do at camp all summer without the set up support of our community volunteer teams. Please pass along our gratitude. We are now so much closer to ready for our opening day and 100th celebration!”
We got several other emails and notes celebrating the Do Good work that we do in the community. It’s one more way that National Life is able to support worthy nonprofits without always writing a check.
Thank you and great work!
