National Life helped respond to the devastation of Hurricane Florence last month both on a personal level and from a company charitable level.
Paul-Martin Gaboriault, who is a team lead in the Contact Center, took volunteer time to drive to the Carolinas.
He hauled a load of bottled water in his truck that he paid for with donations that some of his colleagues in the Customer Innovation Group offered.
They also donated money toward gas cards to pay for his travel and National Life covered the cost of his lodging.
At the same time, the National Life Foundation made donations to the Foodbank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.
That came on the recommendation of Katy Bickford, who is a large case consultant on the new business team. Katy works for us remotely from her home in Wilmington, N.C., which was at the heart of the storm.
The Foundation also donated $1,500 to the Corinth Baptist Church in Rose Hill, N.C., which acted as a food shelf and shelter for the community.
Agent Tim Russell was involved in volunteering at the church.
