National Life Group’s Life Savers team took second place in Division D at this past weekend’s Dragon Boat Festival.
The festival is a rowing competition that raises money for breast cancer survivors and supporters.
National Life has been a sponsor of Dragonheart Vermont for a number of years and we’ve also had a team of rowers.
This year, the team made it all the way to the finals and missed winning by just one-45th of a second! The team did an amazing job, not just on the water but also in fundraising. They were the 6th top fundraising team at the Dragonheart festival this year bringing in a total of $4,567.00!
All of the proceeds raised at the festival go towards supporting the new UVM Cancer Center Integrative Therapies Unit. The Unit provides acupuncture, yoga, message, mindfulness and other therapies to cancer patients and survivors. These therapies have proven helpful in controlling pain, fatigue and other side effects while improving psychological outlook and quality of life.
Thank you to all those that stopped and supported the Life Savers at the Do Good Fest, as well as those who donated by other means.
Congratulations for such a strong showing, Life Savers! And thank you for representing our Do Good values in the community.
