Freezing Fun for Families, a nonprofit based in Vermont, held their annual fundraising dinner to help support two Vermont children who are battling cancer.
The mission of Freezing Fun for Families is to help alleviate stress and financial hardships for Vermont families who have a child that’s battling cancer. Each year, there are around 16-23 new cases in Vermont of children who are fighting the disease.
During the dinner, Jack Miceli and Dawn Peck presented the nonprofit with a donation of $6,500 from the National Life Foundation to support the Konner Drury Grant. Kathy Drury and Mandy Donahue were also in attendance with their families.
The Konner Drury grant, which is maintained and supported by Freezing Fun for Families, was created in 2017, and was named in memory of one of the 2011 snow softball fundraiser beneficiaries. The annual snow softball tournament is the world’s largest snow softball tournament, and a fun way to help raise funds for families in need.
The grant is available to any Vermont family with a child whose under the age of 16 and is battling cancer. With the grant, the family is provided with a $250 stipend to help with immediate financial needs.
Mandy Donahue, Dawn Peck, Jack Miceli, and Leann Morrissette gave donations to the nonprofit through our Community Giving Campaign.
With the match from our Foundation, the amount they donated was doubled, which will go a long way to help our community members who need our support.
