Another record has fallen by the wayside over the past year and this time it’s one of our key Do Good metrics.
National Life employees contributed 7,183 hours of paid volunteer time at nonprofits in the areas where we operate.
We’ve never broken through 6,000 hours let alone 7,000!
And how many of us were involved? Well, a lot of us in Texas, Vermont and among our remote work force. Our records in UltiPro and on our volunteer tracker on National Life Today show that 443 employees used some of their paid volunteer time.
Of that number, 28 people used all of the 40 hours that we’re provided. That’s amazing!
In typical National Life style, we want to celebrate. And, also in our style, we’re doing it by giving away money.
We randomly chose five names from our teammates who donated their full 40 hours. And we’re donating $100 each from the National Life Group Foundation to the charity of their choice.
The employees whose names were chosen were: Darryl Garland in Corporate Communications; Bonnie Pemberton in Market Conduct and Compliance; David Combs of the Contact Center; and Shari Peters of the New Business team.
We’re in the process of notifying all of them and finding out which charities they want us to donate to. We’ll be sure to post them on National Life Today.
