Central Vermont Habitat for Humanity, Inc. (CVHFH) recently received the “Best of the Best” Honor Award in Residential Building for their Passive House build in East Montpelier, VT.
The house, which was completed in August, took many hours of volunteer time to complete.
Debbie Goodwin, Executive Director of CVHFH shared her appreciation for our volunteer’s efforts.
“National Life Group employee participation was essential with maintaining consistent building for the Passive House build, especially during the winter months.”
The award was presented at the Better Building by Design conference, hosted and led by Efficiency Vermont.
“Every year Efficiency Vermont uses Better Buildings by Design as an opportunity to highlight some of the ‘Best of the Best’ design, build, and renovation projects from around our state,” said Efficiency Vermont Director Karen Glitman. “These winners exemplify the integration of innovative energy efficient practices with durability, beauty, and practicality.”
CVHFH builds affordable, energy-efficient homes with eligible low income families, which provides the families an affordable mortgage and stable home ownership.
A new build will be beginning this spring in Randolph, VT and the selection process for a homeowner has been ongoing this winter, with the decision concluding in May.
