Employees Gordon Clow, Sue Preedom, Michelle Larose, and Sashly Felix planted trees with Timberhomes Planting on Monday, April 29th.
The goal of the session was to plant trees along a length of the North Branch that is at high risk of erosion. The day was sunny and cool, and couldn’t have been better for outdoor work. This stretch is visible from the highway, and the volunteers are looking forward to checking out their work in years to come, as the trees fill in. Sashly and Gordon also accidentally did some archaeology, when they found a bunch of pottery shards in one of the holes they dug! The event coordinator thought it likely that they dated to the flood of 1927.
“Thanks to you all for planting all those trees! We were so relieved to get them all into the ground before it starts raining again! I hope you all had as much fun as we did today – I’m always so grateful to be able to be outside this time of year. I hope you’ll join us again this fall or in 2020.” -Shawn at Timberhomes Planting
