There was a very simple and clear message from CEO Mehran Assadi and the Executive Management Team at this week’s all-employee meeting: We are hiring.

And the message was also: We need your help.

“We are counting on you to get the message out,” Mehran said. “It is 75 open positions that are critical to our growth. That is a huge mountain to climb. In order to hire 75 people, you probably have to talk and look at literally close to 1,000 resumes. So we need your help.”

To underscore National Life’s commitment to recruiting, Chief People Officer Mark Benjamin announced that the employee referral rate that the company pays will double for new hires to hourly positions.

Any employee who refers someone who ultimately is hired will quality for a $1,000 bonus, up from the current $500.

“Each of you are ambassadors of our culture and thus the best recruiters we could ever hope to have,” Mark said.

A quarter of last year’s hires came through employee referrals.

The new hires will fill a variety of roles in operations, ranging from case managers and payment center representatives to a number of positions in the Contact Center, which is an inbound call center responding to the needs of our agents and policyholders.

Although the career page lists roughly 50 jobs the actual number of open positions is much higher because there may be several openings for one position.
