CEO Mehran Assadi is sending a welcome message to teachers who will be attending the summit in two weeks of the National Coalition of Safe Schools. This summit, sponsored by National Life Group and LifeChanger of the Year, is designed to give teachers a leading voice in ending school violence. Here’s part of Mehran’s message.
I want you to know that I am with you in this initiative, along with our 1,200 employees, 25,000 financial professionals and the thousands of educators we have recognized over the years as LifeChangers of the Year.
I’d like to tell you a little about National Life so you’ll understand why we’re sponsoring this important work.
We are a company with a cause – a cause to Do Good in the communities where we live, work, do business and raise our families. Our values are very simple and real: Do good. Be good. Make good.
We count many teachers among our clients. We are in this space because we know that three out of four teachers are not able to retire with the dignity that they deserve. And we are proud that our products serve families and children all across the country.
That’s why when Brian Copes came to us with the idea that has become the National Coalition for Safe Schools, we were all in.
First, it was because it was Brian who asked. He was last year’s grand prize winner of our educator recognition program, LifeChanger of the Year. We knew from Brian’s work that something he was so passionate about would be important to us, as well.
And, second, Brian and the other organizers of this summit made clear that this would be much more than one meeting. This is also a cause, one led by teachers, to make a difference and to Do Good.
So, I want to thank you for giving your time to be here. I look forward to hearing your recommendations. And I’m eager to help you continue the work that you will begin here this weekend…a beginning that can have a powerful ripple effect across the country.
Thank you for taking the time out of your busy lives this weekend in order to save lives.
