At National Life, our story is simple: for over 170 years we’ve worked hard to deliver on our promises to millions of people with our vision of providing peace of mind in times of need. It’s our cause, stemming from a deep passion to live our values to do good, be good and make good, every day. This our WHY.
As incredibly important as our WHY is, they are very often devastatingly sad. Our claims team knows this more than most. Take this story of a 37 year old female who purchased a life insurance policy in early 2021. She named her husband and two children the beneficiaries. She was expecting her third child November, 2021 however was diagnosed with Covid-19. Due to multi-organ failure she delivered her baby-boy by emergency C-Section and passed away shortly thereafter.
Or this story of a 23 year old male who purchased a life insurance policy in 2021. He named his wife the beneficiary. They met at the age of 12 and he described her as his “true love”. He was recognized as being “selfless, loving and giving.” He was released from work early one day because of a power outage. Unfortunately, on the way home this young man was involved in auto-mobile accident and died from his injuries sustained.
In both cases, we paid out these claims to provide some comfort and security to these families. It’s stories like this that should remind us all of the fragility of life and why what we do is so incredibly important.
