When something worked so well for so many years, it’s worth going back to it.
That’s what we’re doing with our newsletter. We’ve rechristened it The Messenger, a name that bannered our communications for 75 years until about 1975 or ’76.
We’re actually catching up to changes that we instituted as the pandemic was hitting us at this time last year.
Almost all of National Life went to remote work because of the virus.
And so we’ve really focused our communications internally since then. The Weekly was replaced by The Daily for employees to make sure everyone felt as connected in their remote work offices as they did in the old-fashioned physical ones.
But we didn’t want to inundate all of the rest of our audience for The Weekly with that content, much of which was pretty specific to current employees.
So the Weekly became the, well, The Occasional. We realize that it makes sense to institutionalize a change and get ourselves on a monthly cadence.
And so we’re reflecting back on our proud past with The Messenger, which you should seek in your inbox the last Friday of every month.
