Patti Morrison, executive assistant to Greg Woodworth and the Legal Team, is the last profile in our NLGroup Administrative Professionals Group (APG) series.

Patti has been with National Life for over three years. Greg describes his experience of working with Patti:
My biggest concern when I was considering whether to make an offer to Patti three and a half years ago was whether she would find the work as an executive assistant to the General Counsel of National Life Group to be invigorating and interesting enough given the job that she was leaving. Patti had been for several years the executive assistant to the CEO of Union Mutual and in addition ran the facilities area. Think of a combo of Dawn Minter and Al Foice. That was Patti. She assured me that she was ready and eager to make the move. So I made the offer. Great decision!
To say that Patti approaches her work and handles all her responsibilities with a positive, can-do attitude is an understatement. Patti is one of those rare individuals who never has a bad day. I suspect that everyone who has had the pleasure of interacting with Patti comes away with the impression that she is positive, optimistic, eager to help and fully committed to National Life Group. And indeed she is. She is quick on her feet when new situations arise requiring quick decisions and immediate action. In addition to keeping me organized and on time, Patti manages the Law Department budget, helps set agendas for staff meetings and is the face of the Law Department when colleagues stop by seeking assistance.
Patti is also actively involved in many of the company’s culture and do good initiatives – she is a member of our Spirit Committee, helped to organize the January all-employee event, was a leader of the creation of the NLGroup float for the Burlington mardi gras parade…the list goes on and on. She does not hesitate to volunteer to lead special projects. Patti is a shining beacon for our culture and our company. She gets her energy by helping people and making everyone’s day a little better.
The role of administrative professionals at National Life Group has come a long way during my tenure. We rely heavily on top-notch administrative professionals. They aren’t just supporting players. They add value to the job in ways that make them critical to our organization’s success. They are leaders, invaluable resources and influencers.
