National Life Group Foundation Donates $50,000 to North Texas Food Bank

The National Life Group Foundation has granted $50,000 to North Texas Food Bank to help combat food insecurity in the North Texas area.

The money given to the Food Bank will provide 150,000 nutritious meals to people in need in 13 counties across North Texas. More specifically, the funds will provide urgently-needed fresh fruits and vegetables, protein, and other foods to the most vulnerable members of the community.

Many National Life employees volunteer at North Texas Food Bank, taking advantage of the company’s policy of providing each employee up to 40 hours of paid time to volunteer at nonprofit agencies.

“National Life Group’s employees are dedicated to the company’s corporate values to Do Good in our communities,” said Foundation President Beth Rusnock. “We value the good work that the North Texas Food Bank is doing to help provide nutritious food to those who need it.”

National Life Group Foundation Grants $50,000 to Communities in Schools Dallas Region

The National Life Group Foundation has donated $50,000 to Communities in Schools Dallas Region to support the agency’s mission to help children stay in school.

The money given to Communities in Schools Dallas Region will fund academic and support staff for at-risk students during the 2018-2019 academic school year. More than 63,000 students will have access to help on their campus because of the contribution.

In addition to financial support through its Foundation, National Life has an annual giving tree in its Texas offices at the holidays so that company employees can give clothing and toys to vulnerable children identified by Communities in Schools Dallas Region.

“As the population of the Dallas area grows, so do the issues that students face,” said Foundation President Beth Rusnock. “We’re impressed with the work CISDR does to help students, educators and families and are pleased to be able to support them with this donation.”
