In our ongoing effort to help end childhood hunger, National Life hosted a food and necessities drive on Tuesday in the parking lot of our Montpelier campus.

After three hours, volunteers collected 37 boxes of goods, including rice, canned veggies and fruit, soup, pet food, feminine items, and more from donors who drove up to drop items off. The team also collected eight boxes of diapers.

All of the items will replenish the Do Good Cupboard in downtown Montpelier. As the cupboard was being refilled after the drive, a woman stopped by to take a few things. She explained that her daughter is the single mom of four children and times are tough.

Discussions are underway to install another cupboard in Dallas and Burlington based on the success of this one.

Special thanks to Jess Russo for coordinating the event and to the volunteers who came to the campus wearing their masks: Christina D’Agostino, John Stewart, Patti Brown, Tammy Davis, Kris Clark, Emma Rohan, Joe Bousquet, Megan Sault, Jeannine Santor, Darryl Garland, Beth Rusnock, and Madelynn Russo.
