Foodbank Opportunities in Vermont and Texas

Looking for ways to Do Good in your community? Check out these volunteer opportunities.

Vermont:

  • Fall Gleaning: Come volunteer in the fields to harvest fresh, local produce this fall! October is full of yummy crops to glean from winter squash to pumpkins to kale and more.The Foodbank’s Gleaning Coordinators are excited to have your helping hands working to fight hunger. What a perfect way to spend your day – enjoying the fresh air, knowing your support is benefiting Vermonters across the state.

  • Rutland: The Foodbank in Rutland needs lots of volunteer support.
    Here is a list of our opportunities:

    1. Build bags for our BackPack Program every 1st and 3rd Wednesday morning.
    2. Support staff every 2nd and 4th Tuesday with agency pick-ups.

    Schedule a morning for your friends, family or co-workers to sort and pack!

     

Texas:

  • North Texas Food Bank- Our Community Pantry is looking for 7 volunteers on Tuesday, October 25th from 1:00-5:00 PM.Volunteers will greet and assist clients with shopping, stock items in the pantry, bag fresh produce, operate register to check out groceries as well as bag and carry groceries out for clients.
    Also, additional volunteer opportunities for the months of November and December are available.
