- Yoga & Meditation for Maximum Relaxation & Balance:
Friday, May 31st
Let’s be real. We live in a busy world. Our lives at home are busy. Our jobs are busy. We’re often juggling so many things externally that it can be hard to take care of – or even sit with – what’s going on internally. In the hustle and bustle of life, it can be tricky to find the time to sloooooow down and tune in. During this session, Allison Steinmetz, a 200 hour certified yoga instructor, will take you through a slow flow yoga practice to relaxing music during which positions will be held for several minutes at a time. (Think guided stretching!)The practice will conclude with an extended guided meditation in savasana/corpse pose (Think naptime!) intended to bring awareness to and balance the chakras.Wondering what in the world chakras are?
Chakras are energy centers in the body that when open and in flow help us to feel like our most awesome selves. When they are blocked, we often don’t feel like our most awesome selves. Here are a couple good, quick resources on the seven main chakras that you’ll hear about during during the session from Mind Body Green and from MindValley.
Beginners to yoga and meditation are welcome! Yoga mats will be provided, but feel free to bring your own if you have a favorite. Hands on assists and essential oils will be offered, but are entirely optional. Exercise clothes or loose fitting garments are recommended.Questions? Allison has got you covered. Send over an email.
