Jose Jimenez passes Norma Butler Bossard school in Miami, Florida almost every day on his way to work. One day he decided that after driving past (thousands of times), that he wouldn’t just drive by any longer but actually go in to see if there was anything he could be doing to support the school and the community it holds.

He was so moved by the staff, the students, and the school officers that he decided to devote his time and resources to start supporting them. Jimenez believed the staff truly went above and beyond their call of duty to make this elementary school so special and he saw their need for external resources.

Since driving into Norma Butler Bossard that first day Jose has done the following:

  • Taught three separate 5th grade classes on basics surrounding financial literacy and retirement.
  • Hosted and served breakfast with his wife for 120+ staff members that service the school (out of their own pocket).
  • Reoccurring school supply donations from Office Max (out of his own pocket)
  • Volunteered his time to read to students.

Due to the issue surrounding school safety some counties in the greater Miami area no longer allow guests to enter schools. Which is why Jose is so thrilled to be hosting the National Life booth this weekend at their community picnic where they announce the Miami teacher of the year. The picnic hosts over 3,500 people and Jose is excited to be a part of such an impactful event in their community.
